Physical Therapist

Job Description:

Accelacare Physical Therapy, a growing PT-owned outpatient practice in Western Kansas, is currently seeking a full time Physical Therapist.

We are looking for physical therapists who are passionate about becoming the most highly trained/educated clinicians in their field by completing advanced residency/fellowship training and through continual life-long learning. Our ideal candidates want to dedicate their lives to putting in that extra effort to make their patients’ lives better.

Our long-term goal as an organization is to reposition physical therapy as part of the front-line – joining primary care physicians in the fight to make the patient population they serve as healthy as possible. In order to achieve that goal, we will have to place extremely high-performing physical therapists in Accelacare clinics across multiple communities across the United States and facilitate collaboration between our therapists and general practitioners within each community.

All of our physical therapists are fellowship-trained, currently undergoing training or involved in residency programs. Our fellowship trained therapists are completing their training through The Manual Therapy Institute (www.mtitx.com), based in Austin, TX. All new hires will have the opportunity to obtain their fellowship through the Manual Therapy Institute, with all expenses paid by Accelacare. Mentoring hours required to obtain the fellowship designation can be completed on-site (while working) as we have two therapists that are allowed to mentor student-fellows. This provides a unique advantage as our fellows-in-training do not need to travel or interrupt their patient care load in order to obtain their fellowship. Working in a clinic where student-fellows from other clinics frequently come to do their fellowship hours also makes for a great learning environment for our existing staff.

In order to provide the best care for our patients, we utilize rehab technicians and students to assist our clinicians. Our focus is on maximizing the problem-solving ability of our therapists, allowing them to spend quality time with our patients. For a standard 8 hour day, we expect our clinicians to average 12-14 visits per day. We have a patient population with complex and interesting problems that provides a great practical training ground for the techniques learned in fellowship training or residency. The population breaks down as follows:

  • 20% Spine, 20% Knee, 20% Shoulder, 15% Hip, 10% Foot/Ankle, 5% Elbow/Wrist/Hand, 3% TMD, 3% Women’s Health, 4% Other
  • 95% of all cases are normal outpatient orthopedic conditions
  • 40% of all cases are post-operative patients
  • 20% Medicare
  • *Disclosure: Our population could change over time as we expand our capabilities and market size.

We require a person who demonstrates the physical and mental capabilities (practical &/or written, post training competency test) to perform the duties required of the position.

Accelacare Physical Therapy offers the following benefits:

  • Salaried position at the high end of the market
  • 3 weeks paid vacation accrued
  • Paid Holidays
  • Health insurance Plans
  • Dental Insurance Plan
  • Company-matched Retirement Plan
  • We work with you to craft your continuing education path
  • Assistance with APTA membership dues
  • Paid professional license renewal
