1. First, we listen. The initial intake session is key. You probably have a very detailed take on what you are feeling, but there are connections only a trained professional can make. Physical therapists are like body detectives. We can find clues to the root cause of your symptoms by evaluating aches and pains elsewhere in your body, an accident you had years ago, your daily routine, even the stressors in your life. We put together a total picture that includes your symptoms, daily routine, general health, and emotional state. Only then can we develop a custom exercise/therapy program to help you heal.
  2. Education is a very important part of the process. We share what we’ve found and explain what is happening in your body. This knowledge empowers you to be an effective partner in your own treatment.
  3. We work with you over a number of therapy sessions. This may involve manual therapy, stretching, traction, exercises, and special techniques like dry needling, body manipulation, or electrical stimulation. You will also be given exercises to do at home.
  4. Once you have completed your course of therapy, we send you home with a set of custom exercises to help you maintain the progress you’ve made and keep your symptoms from coming back.
